Scope & Mission

The EAI Green World SIB is a consortium of European industry, research, government and non-governmental-organization leaders that collaborate to share information on green technology strategies, best practices, technologies and initiatives.
Green World encompasses the infrastructure, industrial, and consumer commercial innovations and public policy initiatives focused on environmental improvements that benefit the health and economies of European communities and its citizens.

Key Challenges

The European Union, federal and local governments, public and private industry and citizens are no longer ignoring or setting aside for future generations social challenges such as pollution, dwindling natural resources and climate change.

Investment in cleaner technologies by the European Union is increasing aggressively to meet carbon-reduction targets, boost energy security, and improve the economic sustainability and health of its communities. Private capital investors seek to invest in companies with innovations that exploit the commercial potential of green technology. Private industry and public organizations are investing in research and development and producing new technologies that address the demands set by legislative policies and consumers. Researchers and technologists are developing new solutions that improve the efficiency and efficacy of existing environmental technologies and infrastructures. Consumers are demanding that the products they buy and services they use are environmentally sound.
These green technology stakeholders are engaged in parallel, and not often, in collaboration on ways to best address the demands and challenges of this fast-changing green technology challenge and market.

Description

The EAI Green World SIB is determined to address this challenge by bringing together industry, research, government and non-governmental-organization leaders to pool their resources and collaborate to share information on green technology strategies, best practices, technologies and initiatives.

Communication and collaboration will occur in multiple ways, leveraging the expertise of the members of the EAI Green World SIB with the opportunities made available by EAI, namely:

• Regularly held conferences including an annual EAI Summit, which includes presentations by EAI Green World SIB leaders working on the latest private, public and legislative projects and initiatives. These conferences provide the opportunity to for all EAI Green World SIB members to share knowledge and create cross-collaboration opportunities with the purpose of advancing green technology innovation.
• The EAI Green World SIB dedicated online portal, which serves as a virtual point of reference and facilitator of knowledge transfer for all members of the Green World SIB. Among its services, the Portal enables members to interact with one another in real-time, to compare views and highlight the latest green technology initiatives and projects.
• The Innovator newsletter, which is the official regularly released publication of EAI, distributed to EAI members, and facilitating communication between scientists and researchers and investors, entrepreneurs and public officials involved in technology commercialization.

The EAI Green World SIB is an opportunity for leaders of green technology to meet, share knowledge, and collaborate in multiple forums with other experts involved in industry, research, government and non-governmental-organizations.
